The base of a column protector is often exposed to repeated low-level contact from forklift forks, pallets, pallet trucks and other materials handling equipment. This is especially common in narrow aisles, loading areas, goods-in zones and busy warehouse routes where vehicles operate close to structural columns.

PolyWRAP Forklift Impact Skirts provide an additional steel layer around the lower section of compatible PolyWRAP Column Protectors. This helps protect the base of the column protector from scuffing, denting and low-level impact damage, supporting longer-lasting protection in high-risk areas.

Designed for PolyWRAP Column Protectors and SpaceSavers

PolyWRAP Forklift Impact Skirts are designed as an optional addition to the PolyWRAP Column Protector range. They are suitable for use with compatible PolyWRAP Column Protectors and SpaceSavers where the site risk assessment identifies a higher risk of fork or pallet impact at floor level.

The skirting is available in 3 sizes to suit different PolyWRAP configurations, helping sites choose a suitable option based on the column protector size and surrounding layout.

Folded galvanised steel construction

Each skirt is manufactured from folded galvanised mild steel. The folded sheet metal construction provides additional strength at the base of the protector, while the galvanised finish supports durability in demanding warehouse, logistics and industrial environments.

This makes the skirt a practical option for areas where vehicles, pallets and loads regularly pass close to protected columns.

No mechanical floor fixing required

PolyWRAP Forklift Impact Skirts do not require mechanical fixing to the floor. This helps avoid damage to the substrate during impact, as the skirt works as part of the PolyWRAP protection system rather than being fixed directly into the floor.

This also makes the product suitable for active operational areas where additional low-level protection is needed without drilling into the floor surface.

PolyWRAP Forklift Impact Skirts are specified where column protectors are exposed to repeated low-level impact risks. Typical applications include warehouses, distribution centres, logistics hubs, manufacturing facilities, loading areas, racking aisles, cold stores, goods-in areas and MHE routes.

They are especially useful where columns sit close to forklift turning points, pallet storage areas or operational pinch points where contact at the base of the protector is more likely.

Supporting site protection and duty of care

Protecting structural columns is an important part of managing vehicle movement and impact risk in warehouse and industrial environments. Where forklifts and MHE operate close to exposed columns, suitable physical protection can help reduce the risk of damage to columns, vehicles and surrounding infrastructure.
