The 5 Bar Aluminium Checker Plate is a durable, high-performance treadplate suited to heavy-use and high-traffic environments. Its distinctive raised bar pattern improves traction underfoot, reducing slip risks in safety-critical areas. It also adds a clean industrial finish for decorative applications including wall cladding, counter kick plates and commercial interiors. One product serves both functional and aesthetic purposes across a wide range of applications.

The checker plate is available in three grades: 1050 H14, 5251 H22 and 6082 T6. Each grade suits different structural and aesthetic demands, from lightweight coverage to enhanced mechanical strength. Choosing the right grade depends on the load requirements, environment and intended application of the installation.

The checker plate suits heavy-use locations including loading bays, warehouse flooring, access ramps, stair treads, vehicle interiors and mezzanine platforms. The raised bar pattern provides consistent traction in wet, oily or high-footfall conditions, making it a practical choice wherever slip resistance is a safety requirement.

Sizes, thicknesses and cutting capability

The checker plate is available in sheet sizes up to 3000mm x 1500mm and thicknesses from 2mm to 6mm. Standard dimensions are available to order. Bespoke sizes are cut in-house to exact project requirements, minimising waste and reducing lead times.
In-house cutting capability includes guillotining for sheets and plate up to 6mm thick and bar and tube cutting for diameters up to 220mm. This allows precise specification for complex or bespoke project requirements without relying on third-party processing. The result is faster turnaround and tighter tolerances for site-specific applications.

Optional protective coatings

Two optional protective coatings are available to extend surface longevity and reduce wear during fabrication, transit and installation. The 100-micron fibre laser coating adds durability for applications involving cutting, welding or high-contact fabrication processes. The 80-micron poly coating protects the surface from scratching and degradation in transit or high-contact environments. Both coatings ensure the material arrives in the best possible condition and continues to perform over time.
