Steel and rubber construction with built-in shock absorption

The barrier uses a hot dip galvanised mild steel plate combined with a black rubber buffer. The steel plate provides the structural backbone. The rubber buffer provides the shock absorption. It cushions impact force before it transfers into the wall fixings and the building structure behind them. This built-in design reduces damage to both the barrier and the wall under repeated low-level contact.

Installation and fixing

The barrier fixes directly to brick, block or pre-cast concrete walls. Two M12 x 160mm coach screws and two 75mm nylon rawl plugs secure each fixing point. Installation requires a 14mm diameter drill hole to a depth of 100mm. All fixings are supplied.

For high-risk areas with frequent vehicle contact, 1.6m fixing centres maximise rigidity and resistance along the full length of the installation. For lower-risk areas, 3.2m fixing centres provide effective protection at a lower cost. Both configurations use the same fixings and components. That consistency keeps specification and installation straightforward.

Compatible with the full range of Brandsafe Armco accessories, the system specifies with polymer safety ends in yellow or black. These provide a clean, safe finish at the ends of each barrier run and improve visibility for vehicle operators.
