PAS 13 tested protection for corners, entrances and structures
The Protection Bollard is a cost-effective, high-visibility impact protection bollard tested by IWS Group to PAS 13 standards using a weighted pendulum testing rig. Testing demonstrated that at a 90° impact angle the bollard absorbed 6,000J of energy with a measured deflection of 272mm. These results are equivalent to a 4 mph impact from a 3,500kg forklift. All testing was conducted using M12 Safety Plus Anchors, confirming performance under standard warehouse conditions. For specifiers, H&S managers and facilities teams requiring documented impact performance, the Protection Bollard provides that evidence in full.
This level of testing matters. PAS 13 is the globally recognised code of practice for the impact testing of vehicle-restraint products. Testing to this standard means the performance data is based on a recognised and repeatable methodology rather than an unverified claim. HDPE construction that deflects, absorbs and reforms
The Protection Bollard is manufactured from high-density polyethylene with a steel core. The HDPE outer shell deflects under impact and reforms its shape after contact, meaning the bollard continues to provide protection after routine collisions without requiring immediate replacement. Unlike metal alternatives, minimal force transfers into the floor on impact. This reduces floor damage and the maintenance costs that come with it over the lifetime of the installation.
The material is non-toxic, fully recyclable and impervious to moisture, mould and most solvents. It performs across ambient, chilled and freezer environments and is suitable for use in food production facilities where hygiene and material safety are additional requirements alongside physical protection. Low maintenance is built into the design. These bollards only need replacing when frequent, major impacts have occurred.
Visibility, heights and installation
The Protection Bollard is supplied in Safety Yellow and Grey as standard, providing a clear visual reference for MHE drivers and warehouse teams at known risk points. Bespoke colour options are available on request, subject to minimum order quantities.
Three height options are available: 600mm, 900mm and 1200mm, covering the full range of protection requirements from low-level vehicle contact to full-height structural protection. The bollard has a 200mm diameter and a 240mm footplate width. Each bollard fixes using 4x M12 x 120mm Safety Plus Anchors, with all fixings supplied. Installation is straightforward and keeps operational downtime to a minimum.

The Protection Bollard is used at corners, building entrances, structural columns, racking ends and pedestrian access points in warehouses, distribution centres and industrial facilities.
