Domestic vehicle parking bays need clear physical control, especially where cars park close to walls, fencing, pedestrian routes or back-to-back spaces. Painted bay markings alone do not always stop vehicles from rolling too far into a space. This can lead to vehicle clashes, damaged boundaries and avoidable repair work.
Car Wheel Stops provide a visible physical stop point for domestic vehicles. They help control reverse parking positions in car parks, private parking areas and workplace parking bays. This supports better parking discipline and helps prevent vehicle clashes with surrounding infrastructure when used as part of a reverse parking policy.
Car Wheel Stops are manufactured in the UK from 95% recycled truck tyres. The polyurethane bonded crumbed rubber construction provides a solid recycled rubber wheel stop for domestic vehicle parking environments.
The product is designed to avoid the bending and splitting associated with hollow rubber wheel stops. This makes it suitable for regular car park use where consistent performance and visibility matter.
Car Wheel Stops measure 1000mm long x 140mm wide x 80mm high. The 80mm height gives drivers a clear stop point while helping reduce the risk of clash with lowered suspension, low bumpers, skirting and mud flaps.
This makes the product suitable for domestic vehicles where a lower-profile wheel stop is more appropriate than a higher commercial or HGV option. It also supports safer parking control without creating unnecessary clearance issues for standard cars.
Parking bay products need to remain visible to both drivers and pedestrians. Car Wheel Stops include a 50mm wide reflective yellow strip, moulded into the wheel stop for added visibility.
The black body with yellow visibility stripe helps drivers identify the stopping point during parking. It also improves visibility for pedestrians moving through car parks, especially in lower-light conditions or busy parking areas.
Car Wheel Stops are supplied with 3 x M14 x 135 concrete screws for installation to concrete or tarmac substrates. This gives installation teams a clear fixing specification for standard car park applications.
The fixture hole diameter is 20mm. Drill diameter is 15mm for concrete and 14mm for tarmac, with a drill depth of 105mm. Because of this, the wheel stops can be installed directly into suitable parking surfaces without major groundworks.
Car Wheel Stops are specified where domestic vehicles need controlled parking positions. Typical applications include workplace car parks, private parking areas, residential parking bays, retail car parks, visitor parking, office forecourts and mixed-use parking environments.
They are especially useful where vehicles park close to perimeter walls, fencing, pedestrian routes or back-to-back bays. They also support reverse parking policies by giving drivers a clear physical stopping point.
Car Wheel Stops are designed for domestic vehicle parking bays. Where sites need wheel stops for vans and smaller commercial vehicles, HLGV Wheel Stops may be more suitable. For larger commercial vehicles and HGV yards, HGV Wheel Stops provide a heavy-duty option.
This helps site teams select the right wheel stop for the vehicle type, bay layout and parking risk.
Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, employers must ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of employees at work. Regulation 17 of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 also requires workplace traffic routes to be suitable for the people and vehicles using them.
Car Wheel Stops provide a practical physical control measure for managing domestic vehicle parking positions in car parks and workplace parking areas. For H&S managers, facilities managers, car park operators, site managers and contractors, specifying car wheel stops helps demonstrate a proactive approach to vehicle positioning, parking control and site safety. The result is clearer parking control, fewer vehicle clashes and safer movement across the site.
Car Wheel Stops can be used to help protect pedestrians, and to ensure that your worksite is safe and well ordered. Read more about Car Park Wheel Stops here.
